i had the blaster virus/worm and i got rid of it and i am
compeletly sure that my computer free of that virus/worm.
but i lost memory stoage. before i had the worm i had
4gig of free space and now that i got rid of it and i
only got 1gig of free space! how could i get my memory
for my hd?

Boot up XP in "Safe Mode" (press F8 while booting) and
run a disk check using "Windows Explorer" Right CLick on
C: and select Properties. Select Tools and "Check Now".
Select all checking options "Automatically Fix..."
and "Scan for ..." This may tell you that a reboot is
needed before CheckDisk can run.

Next, run DIsk Cleanup, to get rid of temporary files.

If you want to be very thorough, get a disk diagnostic
that boots off a diskette from your hard disk
manufacturer's website (Western Digital, MaxTor, Seagate,
IBM all have disk diagnostic/repair tools.) Those tools
work without needing XP, and when they say that the disk
drive is fine, you can be sure that there is no hardware
error.
