How do I get rid of the truncated 'right-click' menus that are the default
with XP. I preferred the complete list style (even it it took 2 columns) in
Window98?

I found a check box in Office XP that "Always shows full menus". Is there a
similar check box for the rest of XP. The Start Menu is particularly
frustrating.

Thaks in advance.

Two Suggestions:

First - Windows XP isn't 2000 or 98 or 95, BUT it can be set to look like it.

Try this - Click on Start - now RIGHT CLICK on Control Panel - Neat. Select Performance and Maintenence. Then Select Adjust Visual Effects. This is a good place to tweak things. Selecting (Adjust for Best Performance) and SURPRISE, you're Win 2000! (Sort of)

My other suggestion is just a matter of policy - If you Right Click on the Start Button and Select Explore All Users - this is where the structure of the Start Menu resides. It DOESN'T HURT to make a Games Directory, a Home Mgmt Directory, a Utility Directory, etc, and do a little "cabinet cleaning" Then, you NEVER EVER have to worry about Scrolling again.

Everything in there should be links, and are not location sensitive.

Right-click on the Start Menu, go to Properties,
Customize, un-check "Use Personalized Menus"
