WinXP spoof update message

Yesterday my wife received a pop-up whilst surfing the web which informed
her that a Microsoft Windows update was available. Unfortunately she
clicked to do the update. The only obvious effect is that
when opening the NAV dialog box her Zone Alarm asks to connect to an IP
address (that is in fact the address of our router) in association with
executable Norton Integrator. When permission is denied, the Norton
dialog box opens with no problem. There are no other indicators of a
problem but I am sure that this is some sort of virus/worm. With the latest
NAV definitions, a full virus scan results in nothing.

She is running WinXP Prof, NAV 2000 and Free Zone Alarm.

Any advice would be very much appreciated. Many thanks Rob
