WinXP SP2 and the ActiveX Blocker

I have not installed SP2 because of the ActiveX Blocker. For all intents and
purposes it is unnecessary in that I use SpywareBlaster and SpyBot to
accomplish the same effect with continued access to all webpages. The
Microsoft ActiveX Blocker has no controls and no disable feature and also
prohibits access to many pages without install of an activeX whether or not
you want it to do so. How do I disable and or remove the ActiveX Blocker
from the install? I would prefer to just remove. All of the other features
are most desirable, please help.

there is a setting in i.e. to "allow active content" - either locally or
remote.
it is in the internet security settings.

this should take care of it for you.

Thank you so very much - I believe that I will verify my system status and
upgrade immediately.

OrDracul.
After you finish the SP2 upgrade, you should go back and check all your IE/OE, firwall, security settings. You may need to change them back to your desired ones.

Also before you download the update, depending on your AV program, it might be neccessary to disable it. Some AV programs cause problems with it.
