Hi
I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 v2055 installed. It worked fine some time ago but now I can't update it anymore using www.windowsupdate.com. It reports following

SOAPCLIENT_INITIALIZE_ERROR initialization failed -- most likely an MSXML installation problemError Number: 0x8024400

Any ideas

Thanks
Teem

Quote from the OP, "Any ideas?".

I have one, don't download "BETA" software unless you are skilled enough to
deal with an un-tried program. It is BETA, that means, it has not been tried
and perfected yet!!

There is no support for Beta software.
If you are a Beta tester, go to the Beta newsgroups.
Otherwise Beta software is strictly at your own risk.

I am very aware of the nature of beta updates
Still, the update seemed to work fine in the beginning and actually my windows is working fine with SP2 beta, I'm just wondering if I have all the security updates installed.

Tesse;
SP2 is in itself a major update.
The only thing I could guess at is the updates that came out after SP2
are not covered by SP2, and even that is not a good assumption.

You could install updates you are unsure of manually, #1 on this link:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/wufix.htm

One suggestion is to uninstall Service Pack 2 from Add/Remove
Programs, or try a system Restore.

Otherwise try the windows Update checklist:
