Hi, I just want to ask, I hv installed a copy of WinXP
and registered, if I format my computer, can I use the
same serial key to register again? or if I upgrade to a
new computer, can I use the serial key to register to the
new computer (where the old computer will not be use the
same serial key), thx

If you format the hard drive, you use the same key for installation. If you
move XP to a new PC, assuiming this is retail version of XP, you still use
the same key, when activation comes up, you will likely be given a phone
number to call. Tell them what you've done and that you've removed XP from
the old system and they will give you an activation number.

If your version of XP came with your computer, it is likely BIOS locked to
that setup and cannot be moved but can be reinstalled, even on a formatted
drive on that computer as many times as you want.
