Completely Lost

01. ) I assigned another drive letter to a hard drive.

02. ) After assigning the new drive letter the data didn't show on the tree
in Windows Explorer although the drive properties in My Computer showed that
the drive was being occupied by "something."

03. ) I used Ontrack Data Recovery Pro to recover the data to another drive
then formatted the squirrelly drive then did a copy from the backup drive.

04. ) It was fine until I rebooted.

05. ) The data is "gone" and yet My Computer Properties page shows that the
drive is being occupied by "something."

06. ) The data is contained in only one folder named "Programs," with many
sub-folders.

I know the data is still there but where is that folder and why doesn't it
show in Windows Explorer.

To anyone who is interested: I changed the drive letter back to the
original drive letter that WinXP had assigned and lo and behold, there were
all of my files. Strange!
