[WinXP-Pro] Restore points and missing files

WinXP-Pro SP2 all current updates

Hello,

I've just discovered restore points and have rolled the system back a week
or so, but some recent files that were living on the desktop are in hiding.

Where does the restore point thingy put any extra files when 'going back'?

I believe you have restored the system to a time that is Prior to your
allowing those files to reside on the desktop. They are gone......you will
have to hunt them up again.

In the future, remember to put anything you might need to Keep in folders
away from the desktop before applying System Restore, or any other major
system change.
