winxp pro "hangs" at bootup

I was wondering, why Win XP Pro hangs on my new
computer. On a fresh install, it doesn't, but then I
installed SP1 and it "hangs" right after the welcome
screen. Then after about a minute, it just finishes
loading everything up, and everything is dandy...this is
an annoying little bug.

Using Gigabyte Mobo w/ P4 3 Ghz w/ HT. 1 gig corsair
dual XMS, 120 gig seagate SATA drive, GeForce5200 with
newest drivers...
