How can you have a Power User connect to a network
printer via net use lpt1 command. I can get this to work
in Win2000 pro but not in XP Pro. Is there a script that
needs to be written to accomplish this?

You cannot.

Use LPT2 if that's an option or disable the LPT1 port on the system BIOS.
There is a security change in XP where non admins are not allowed to map
physical devices. I can't find the KB right now.
