Alright, this is more of a "nifty" kind of thing, but I
was wondering how you change the background of the XP
opening screen (the big blue logon screen where you pick
which user is on). I remember having seen it on another
computer, and I was thinking that was pretty nifty and
thought I'd like to give it a go. How should I go about
doing this?

StyleXP from TGTSoft will allow you to do that as well as change themes.
Login screens and visual themes are available for download from themexp.org.
StyleXP is shareware-free for 30 days, $20 registration afterward. I've used
it for over a year and love it. There is a way to change the login screen
without software, but I don't remember how. Maybe somebody will step in with
the procedure. Good luck.

Use the tweakui powertoy from MS
