I have a small, home network. It is all based around a Belkin router.
I have a file server (P3) running Ubuntu 9.10.
I have a workstation/workhorse server (dual-core P4) running Ubunto
10.04.
I have a laptop (Dual-core processor) running Win7.
I have a desktop (Athlon 2650) running WinXP.
I have a Brother network printer as a stand-alone device.
I believe both Windows versions are Home.
I have no issues with the Ubuntu computers, the Win7 computer or the
printer. They all see each other and talk to each other and print
just fine.
The WinXP computer is a whole other story. It doesn't seem to want to
acknowledge the other computers (even though they're all in the same
workgroup) or the printer, presumably because it's not acknowledging
that it's part of the workgroup.
The WinXP computer has no problems with getting to the outside
(internet) - it just doesn't like being part of the family on the
inside.
I'm confused and really wanting to rectify this so my wife will be
happier. PLEASE!!!!
