I recently installed Windows XP fresh and bought a MS
Naturals MultiMedia Keyboard at the same time. I have
tried installing and uninstalling the keyboard softare
and still have the same issue. When I am playing a game
the PS2 port seems to lockup, or overload... I am not
sure whether this is a XP issue... or a keyboard hardware
issue... the computers system speaker beeps six times,
two quick beeps three times, then the keyboard just no
longer functions. I can plug in a USB keyboard and
continue but the regular is just dead. it comes back
after reboot. The mouse and other functions are not
really effected. I checked for heating issues but the
system reports decent temps. I am using ASUS motherboard
A7N8X-DX bios ver 1007, 3000+AMD, 1gig ram, gfti4600
video, I am not used to this system locking up... any
help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance to any who put up any ideas for me.

Do other PS/2 keyboards do the same thing.

Unless something is wrong with the keyboard, there is the possibility that
there is something wrong with the ps/2 keyboard port on your motherboard.

What happens when you completely uninstall the drivers and software you
got with the keyboard and let windows xp install just the default
keyboard drivers?
