We have some Olympus digital recorders, DS-2300, which connect via USB.
When connected, Windows sees them as removable drives, like a USB hard
drive or a memory card. No Olympus driver is needed - it works "out of
the box".
Usually, like with data CD's or digital camera memory cards, etc.,
Windows XP asks you what you want to do when the device is connected,
such as open Explorer to view files, and it saves that info somewhere
so it doesn't have to ask every time.
However, with these recorders, Windows XP always just opens up
Explorer.
Is this behavior defined somewhere in the system registry? Is there a
way to control this behavior?
I can find no help from Olympus about this issue. Anyone have any
pointers?
