WinXP Home & Spyware Doctor

I find that Spyware Doctor is too aggressive when I activate "On Guard
Protection".

My machine, upon restart will 'not' connect with my cable company. I must
disconnect
the high speed internet cable box from power and the wireless router, and
turn off the
computer. Then wait for a minimum of a full minute or more to re-power all.

Is there a better Spyware available that will 'not' cause the above?

Thanks for reading and hopefully replying.

Hello drybones
What about MS own beta Antispyware - its free and seems to do its job.
Though some say terrible things about it.
It has not upset my cable ISP connection.
You will find it here.

Thanks for your reply, Antioch,

I did D/L and run it. It took over Spyware Doctor in the sense that I can
not
activate it to check on the results of both 8^(.

Oh well, will a few days to see if it does pickup any spyware.

Thanks,

Ooops, sorry drybones.
I think I would have disconnected from the net first then uninstalled that
Doctor thing before trying the MS antispy

Hello drybones
Caution is good - always look both ways when crossing the road.
Have you tried other groups, within this newsgroup, such as beta general,
security, security homeusers, security virus.
I know there is a special discussion/forum for just the MS antispy beta, and
I am sure if you ask in one of the above, someone will direct you
accordingly.
This forum will give you some flavour of the pros and cons - I followed it
for a few months before I took the plunge.
