WinXP Home, speakers suddenly disappeared from the list of playback devices

Hi, Everyone!

Today I noticed that my speakers suddenly disappeared from the list of
playback devices "Sound Playback" in "Sound and Audio Devices" window
of "Control Panel". My system is WinXP Home. I did not do anything w/
my devices and did not install any games, additional drivers, etc.

I've never seen speakers as an explicitly listed playback device. Do
you have sound? If not, look into the detailed volume control for muted
or attenuated output controls.
