Hello,

I have a new WinXP Home PC +SP1 that I have added to a small
Win98SE Per to Per Home network, running TCP/IP, Static IP's.
I would just like some points clarifying before I commit to installing
any apps and start using it in anger.

1. I read a number of posts on here, and looked at I think one of
the MVP web sites regarding user set-up. When the box was new
it had the original Administrator user, NO password. I first created
a new Admin user and gave it administrator rights, and a password.
I think this is correct so far. I then added another user for general
"Family" use, restricted, and with a password.
When I look in user manger I see:
Administrator - Administrator
AdminManager - Administrator
Family - user, administrator

Is this correct?

2. With hindsight I should have thought about sensible computer
names but with only 2, it wasn't an issue. I've now added an XP PC,
I will be adding a Laptop, and one more XP PC shortly.

If I change computer names will this cause me any problems?
I realise I will have to re-do the connections to shared resources.

Many Thanks - David

Apologies..

I missed my final question.

3. If I want all users to see a program,
I log-on with administrator capabilities to install, will
everybody see this program?, MS Office for example?

or will I be asked during install?

Appologies for posting this way.

Regards - david
