Toshiba's CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives do not require any
After installing your drive and re-booting, your system
should recognize your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM.
Win '95/'98/2000/XP/NT Operating Systems support all
Toshiba ATAPI CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drives natively.
Did you get an installation disk with your PC to install
the CD-ROM drive? It should be on the accompanying WinXP
repair/reinstallation disk.

As far as I recall when I had a Toshiba drive, it runs on a standard
non-specific ATAPI driver.
Toshiba will supply a firmware update for their drives (a definite case of
benefit versus possible fried drive decision making on that one)
but all the associated burning software was 3rd. Party. Usually Pinnacle or
its VOB predecessor)

atapi drivers are only good for IDE drives *as I recall*
I have the same cdRW-drive - it's SCSI and all drivers I have found on the internet and have gotten from Toshiba are not functional under Dos and are not working during the windows NT 4.0 Setup
regardless the drivers can be found at Toshiba. Sorry it's the german site as I was not able to find it on www.toshiba.com
