I have an old camera, Intel CS630 which came bundled with Create and Share
software, good only for Windows 98, however, later Intel supplied a driver
cs630-xp for Windows XP. It works only as far as transferring images from
camera to hard drive, but it cannot delete images off camera. Intel also once
offered a CD of its Create and Share software as an upgrade to Windows XP,
but no more as Intel has ceased support for this camera.

Is there any software out there that will work in Windows XP, similar to
Intel's Create and Share software, or at least one that can offload images
from the camera. TIA

You do NOT use your computer to delete photo files on the memory card of
your camera.
Once the files are transferred to your hard drive and you open them to make
sure they work and you copy them to a CD-R so you have a backup, you can now
delete the files on the memory card of your camera.
The way to do this is with your camera. Look in your manual, there should be
something about FORMAT. This should be available on a menu in your camera.
You select FORMAT and it will erase all the files on your memory card and
the card will now be ready to take new pictures.

There is no format feature available in the crippled driver supplied by Intel
for using this Camera in Windows XP. Is there any universal camera software
that will do at least two things: transferring camera images from camera to
hard drive and deleting images on camera, releasing camera memory to take new
snapshots. TIA

The FORMAT is NOT part of the driver. FORMAT is on the Menu in your camera.
This is the way to erase (remove or delete) photo files on the memory card
of your camera. Look into you camera manual. Something about FORMAT has to
be there.
It has NOTHING to do with Intel or XP. It has nothing to do with your
computer. You FORMAT with your camera, not your computer.

Thanks for replying and advising use of FORMAT command on camera.

I will get back in about three days to share my experience because right now
camera is not with me. My daughter took the camera to take snapshots of her
picnic (camp out) with her friends and on her return I will transfer camera
images to hard drive and then try to FORMAT the camera memory.

Thanks buddies.
