WinXP at standstill when I run .wmv or DVD

Greetings -

I recently installed a new motherboard (GIGABYTE GA-7N400S-L Socket A)
and video card (GIGABYTE GV-N62128DE Geforce 6200 AGP 4X/8X).

I installed Win2K on one partition, and WinXP on the other.

The behavior I'm encountering is as follows: WinXP almost hangs (chugs
and responds only intermittently) when I attempt to play a .wmv file or
a DVD. One other note - Gigabyte's VGA utility indicates that the card
is only running at 4x speed (it's a 4/8 card in an 8 board).

In contrast, the Win2K works system works fine. DVDs play fine, as do
..wmv files. And the utility indicates that the video card is running at
8x speed.

Presumably I missed a driver or something, but I'm at a loss.

Any & all help welcome.

Thanks.

- Richard
