Winword.exe error

Every time I close out a word or excel file I get a
winword.exe error and that an error log is bieng created...
 
I would always try Start | Run | winword /a | OK | File | Exit first to see if the error still occurs. If it doens't then I suspect neither of those two fixes will work. For it's a COM issue. If it does then your suggestion I think is where it's at.

Good fix first and hope it works.
click on start then search files and folders, then type
in "Normal.dot" when the search finds the file or files,
hilight them all and delete them all. [there should only
be one though]
That file may have become corrupted.

Ok now for the bad fix... completely un-install and re-
install the office applications.
