WinVista file selection bug

I think there's a bug when attempting to select files in Windows Vista.

Here are the steps to reproduce the problem:
- open windows file explorer
- click on a folder on the left so it's selected (blue)
- in the right files box that is now displayed, drag your mouse starting
from NOT on the horizontal line of a file (that you want to select)
- after you release the mouse to complete the drag selection, the file(s)
you tried to drag/select remain grey and NOT selected! (INSTEAD OF GOING BLUE)
- the folder (on the left) remains selected (blue) and if you try to
cut/copy/paste/delete/etc. what you tried to select, you accidentally act on
the folder INSTEAD of the file(s) you tried to select.

However, this problem doesn't happen when you start the drag on the SAME
horizontal line as one of the files (that you want to select). This way
seems to work properly. However, this way is not always convenient if the
file names are long and therefore the drag selction method is not possible
because there isn't any white space to the right of any of the files you want
to select.

This issue is clearly a problem, because when a user tries to select files,
the files SHOULD become selected (blue instead of grey).

IT'S A BIG PAIN when I accidentally delete the whole folder (because it's
still blue) thinking that the files that I tried to select are actually NOT
selected.

Please make the file selection work EXACTLY like WinXP. Please. Please.
Please.

I'm sorry... I got it mixed up... selection doesn't work when you
drag-select from the SAME line as a file you want.

Please only post once.

I think the "bug" is in your brain.

so the selection works properly in your computer?... maybe it's a version
problem.

....so I checked my computers... I have two computers running different
versions... a Vista Business and Vista Premium... the selection doesn't work
properly on the Business version.

It's definitely a bug.
