I just bought myself a WinTV PVR 2 unit, plugged it into my USB 1.1 port and
got the following error:

USB device not recognised
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfuntioned, and
Windows does not recognise it. For assistance in solving this problem,
click this message.

In Device Manager it just shows up as Unknown Device and the driver is shown
as being provided by Microsoft, dated July 7th 2001, version 5.1.2600.0 and
signed by Microsoft Windows XP Publisher. The troubleshooter gets me
precisely nowhere !

I am running XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 1 on a Toshiba
Satelite Pro 1115-S103.

Can anyone shed light before I give up and ship the unit back to Amazon ?

Thanks in advance

Nick

As with most USB devices, the drivers must be in Windows before connecting
the device to a USB port (on motherboard or hub).

Remove the device from Device Management and install the drivers for the
device (either from the CD or new download from the manufacturer's web
site).

Then plug in the device.
