In an effort to manually repair the winsock in Windows
2000, I deleted the winsock2. When I try to run a
winsock fix for 2000 (LSPfix) it gives me the error
message "Winsock2 is not installed. Please reinstall" I
have no idea how to do that, nor do I know how to roll
back the registry in 2000 to a previous date. I tried to
go the System tools>Backup route, but there are not any
saved settings. So my request is directions to either
reinstall winsock2 or rolling back the registry from a
command prompt. Please Help! Thanks.

If you deleted files then it isn't a registry issue. Restoring the registry
can't fix missing files. These may help.
