I have a Windows 2000 server that is currently serving as a gateway to a DSL
connection and provides file, internet, etc services to the local network.
The current problem is that when the Internet connection reconnects or
changes IP's the WINS server changes to the public IP, is there a way to
specify which adapter the WINS service binds to? I have tried setting it in
the WINS server manager but it always switches over to the public IP. Ideas
much appreciated...Thanks..

1. Unbind "Microsoft Networking" and "File and Print Sharing" from the
Internet NIC

2. Set the LAN NIC as the primary Nic by opening "Network Places", choose
Advanced from the menu at the top, choose Advanced Settings from the drop
down menu. It should be obvious from their. You want the LAN Nic at the top
of the list, not anywhere else.

Thank you very much, worked.
