winrar, corrupt rars problems

seems like when making, downloading or uploading of
multiple rar files somehow corrupts them. For example if
i rar a large file in multiple rars i always get 1-3
corrupt files. After doing it multiple times I sometimes
get lucky. I am running WinXP Pro SP1 with all the
updates...Please help
 
i use a ftp client to upload/download. But thats not the
problem being that when i create the archive windows
corrupts some of them.
