Hi, Stumped.
If you boot into WinNT2 and ask it to delete WinNT2, you are asking it to
commit suicide - and it won't obey that command. If you boot into your
original WinNT, you should be able to delete WinNT2.
Your opening menu should offer you two choices, although their labels will
be identical unless you have edited C:\boot.ini. That file is probably
Hidden, System and Read-only, so you'll have to remove or work around those
Attributes, and then you can edit it with any editor, even Notepad. Delete
the line that refers to \WinNT2, but leave the one for \WinNT, of course.
For future reference, Microsoft and nearly everybody else STRONGLY advise
against putting two installations of Windows into the same volume, even in
different folders. Next time, use a different partition or logical drive.
As you've seen, even in the same volume, they won't use settings in the
other Registry, but some files and applications can still get confused and
tangled by two Win2Ks in C:, for example.

I had a problem rebooting win2k and reinstalled winnt under a new dir
called winnt2(so as not to lose winnt settings/files/etc.). However, now I
cannot seem to boot any of the settings in the original winnt file, nor can
I access any of my files or programs. I do not need this new winnt2 dir or
its files, as the old one is fixed and would work fine, however I cannot
delete the winnt2 dir or change/rename it in any way. What can I do to
restore my old desktop/programs/files/documents etc.?
