I am having a weird problem with a user logging onto a WINNT 4.0 workstation
in a Windows 2003 AD domain.

The user has been added to the local admin group.

The user can not access UserManager or the start directory
(profiles\%username%\start menu\programs\start) and gets an access denied
warning.

The C drive, which is where the OS and profiles are, is a FAT partition.

If I add the user to the domain admin group, no problem.

I have run out of ideas.

local user accounts are disabled once part of a ad
domain, so there should not be a user manager icon to
click on. Have to use users and computers from the admin
tools to administer userid's...

I hope that helped.

UserManager is still available to administer local users and groups. You
might be referring to a DC. ADUC can not access local SAM of a NT4.0
workstation.
