The only "fix" is to wipe out the database completely. There are two copies
of it under the location of the message store (Tools | Options | Advanced |
Maintenance | Store Folder).
If you search under that directory for WindowsMail.MSMessageStore and
include subdirectories in the search, then you can delete those two files
and the database will be rebuilt. But you will lose all the current
information in the database, just because one message won't delete.
Another way to accomplish similar (except you will also have to setup your
accounts again and import all the messages) is to rename the Windows Mail
directory or move everything under it (including subdirectories) to another
location on the hard drive.
These are drastic measures. There is no surgical approach to take out the
bad values in the database at the moment.
