I have a user who when she sends a Word document as an
attachment to one client in particular, the recipient does
not get anything but a winmail.dat attachment. However,
her secretary can send the attachment without issue.

She was using Rich Text format to send emails, so I had
her test sending in Plain Text. This did not resolve the
issue either.

She is not using Word as her email editor.

I also ran a Detect and Repair with no results.

Anyone have any other ideas?

You were right to test other formats w and w/o MSWord as the editor. But I
gather that the same attachment to other people is received fine. This
indicates a sever closer to their end is making hashbrowns with your spuds
and neither you or the recipient have any real control or settings to do
inside the computer settings themselves. Find a format that doesn't get
it's name changed: ZIP or PDF that works for you. Also, include the
original file name in the e-mail. In many cases the Winmail.dat file may be
saved to the My Docs folder and renamed there to the original format (DOC)
and it becomes readable.
