I am trying to load service pack 4 to my computer and
everytime I run the update it gets started and then I get
a "Winlogon.exe" error and the computer shuts down and
restarts. I currently do not have any Service Packs
installed and this also happens when I try to load Service
Pack 3. Has anyone run into this problem before?

What is the exact error that you are getting?

I had this same problem. Unfortunately, you might have have a virus on your
computer that got in through some security hole - mine had W32/Elkern.C
which modifies program executable files (including Windows system files) in
order to multiply itself. Try installing a virus scanner. The virus might
prevent this, however. In that case, formatting and re-installing Win2k is
your only option. Never run any infected EXEs again after re-installation or
the virus endures.

The error window says "Winlogon.exe" error. And then the
whole computer restarts. The window flashes really
quickly, so I can't see everything that it says.
