Winlogon.exe error and then reboot

If I unplug the network connection to our W2K computers,
they boot fine. As soon as I plug in the network cable, I
get "winlogon.exe has generated errors" and the computer
instantly reboots. I've run every
spybot/malware/virus/trojan remover I know of (which is a
lot) and I've searched all over the internet to no avail.
It appears like this is some new DoS type attack.

Has anybody else seen this issue. Any help is greatly
appreciated

Do you have a firewall? Is this system patched? Especially with KB835732?

I don't know what it is but try putting a personal firewall on one of your
computers such as Sygate which has excellent logging and try to use that
computer to log where the attacks is coming from which may help narrow down
the problem to what IP address the attack is coming from and what port it is
using. If you can identify the attacking computer, you could use tools such
as Process Explorer, TCPView, and Autoruns from SysInternals on it to see if
you can identify offending process and posibly from what folder. --- Steve
