Question: In what way can this product be described as a "Linux
distribution"? Does it boot a Linux kernel at any point?

I guess not ; i have played a little with cygwin, and it has only a taste
of linux, while it is completly somthing else. But this winik is intersting
because it seems to "emulate" (or port) KDE. It's also not small.
