A lot of people seem plagued with pop-up ads from
Winfixer.com It even popped up on me while accessing this
newsgroup. I launched the antispyware and it did not
detect anything.

We are having a terrible time with WinFixer at my job. I
have not gotten popups from it, but maybe that's because
it has never finished an install. It tries to install
without asking permission and never finishes, so it just
comes up again every time people log in.

I have had some luck blocking it in the System Explorer |
Startup. (I think it's called WinSoftware NetInstaller.)
This seems to work only if it has not made it to the
system tray.

When you google for it, you see very little about it as
unwanted software. It is at many reputable shareware
download sites. But I have had a bunch of users complain
about it in the last week and I cannot get rid of it once
it gets to the tray.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
