I have a customer who's in the event planning business. As such, they
frequently need to send the same fax to many (50-250) people. I've tried
getting basic information from Symantec about Winfax but can't find anyone
who knows anything about it.
1) Does Winfax still require that there be an analog modem available to send
the faxes? My customer does not have modems any longer since they do
everything via a shared DSL line. In other words, will Winfax create some
sort of Voice over IP telephone connection to send fax messages via the
internet?
2) Will Winfax let my customer send a broadcast fax as I've described? Or
would they be better served by going to something like J2.com where it will
cost 6 or 12 cents per page (no mail merge vs mail merge) to send a fax?
With this latter company, we'd send them our list and the fax and they would
send it. If Winfax will do the same thing via our internet connection, we'd
be foolish to pay the extra fee.
Thanks.
