Hello

While trying to install Windows Media Player 10 in Windows XP Pro
SP2..I get an error that this program can not be installed as it has
not passed windows logo testing. This has driven me nuts...I hv
followed all the solutions presented in Microsoft KB areticles and
still unable to install.

When I had Win XP Pro and separate SP2 i was able to install it
without any issue.

Logo testing is nothing serious...although it can be. if it's Microsoft,
it's good...don't worry about it. I used to come across that message every
day when I first set up my toy in the 80's, early 80's, when the pc's were
considered toys. just ignore it and go on. You should be on Media Center 11
anyway.

Thsimis not like this as you are thinking.
There is no ignore option it is simply telling me thet the program can
niot be installed
and it is happenign during installation of Media Player 10.

If it is NOT being installed, then you do have a serious error there. Most
programs or drivers that do fail the logo test CAN be overridden manually to
install them. Try Media Center 11 and see if you still get the error.
That's the best I can think of.
