Hi,

I could not get rid of WindUpdates adware by using the
Microsoft Spyware.

What do you suggest?

Overview:
WindUpdates is a trojan downloader that by itself will deliver popup
advertisements to your system. This is NOT the part thats so bad...
It also installs a number of other adware/spyware applications and
is installed on your system through an activex control that installs
itself on alot of IE users systems without them ever knowing it. All
they hav do do is visit the wrong site!

hi i had exactly the same problem as you, microsoft
antispyware detects and removes windupdates and aurora
etc but they regenerate themselves even after a quick
reboot. I eventually discovered a site called
www.mypctuneup.com which is a tool that removes
windupdates, aurora and a lot of other crap. But on the
whole microsoft antispayware is very good, but it just
needs to come up with a solution for regenerating spyware
like windupdates. I even did a full deep scan and
immediately rebooted without any joy!!!!
 
Please be aware the the site you mention is provided by the authors of the
engine behind Aurora and the other "crap" that it removes. I'm not aware of
any reason to distrust the operation of the tool downloaded from that
site--but the site name is disingenuous--BEWARE.
