I am running windowsXP professional. I am trying to
instal a program from a CD-Rom. At first attempt the
program partially loaded and then froze. I went
to 'add/remove programs' and asked it to remove. It has
removed all but 0.89MB which remains in the list of
installed programs and will not disappear after several
attempts. When I try to re-instal the program the setup
wizard asks if I want to REMOVE the program and all it's
contents. Problem seems to be that the old installation
has not been completely removed by the 'change/remove'
button and the program remnants remain in the list of
installed programs.
How to get rid of this 0.89MB remnant in order to instal
the program afresh?

go>start\run and type in regedit and then follow this
route by clicking the + beside each entry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Uninstall now look for the name of the program here and
right click on it and then click delete. Write this down
for future such problems when you can't remove entries in
the add\remove program list. Have fun.
