more appropriate to post it here).

Hello,

This program (WindowsUpdate39496[1].exe) is trying to access the internet
from my computer, but was stopped but ZoneAlarm. Does anyone know if it's a
virus/trogan? Stopping it didn't seem to effect WindowsUpdate doing what it
normally does. Thanks!

Hi,

A little more info from me: I recently caught what I believe was the
CoolWebSearch trogan (A program called Taskmng.exe was trying to download
links to my computer). I cleaned it with CWShredder. As I understand it, the
CoolWebSearch trogan creates a number of other .exe programs on your computer
that are hard to identify and get rid of because they add random characters
to the created program names. So I fear that WindowsUpdate39496[1].exe is one
of those bad programs, but I don't want to delete it if it actually isn't. Is
there an easy way to find out if WindowsUpdate39496[1].exe is a valid program?

I run many virus and ad-search progames and they show my computer is clean,
but they may be being fooled because of the random character problem.

Thanks!

Mike
