Windows'update site

Hi. I apologise if I am in the wrong newsgroups.
For the last few days, I have been trying to download the critical updates
from the Microsoft site through I.E. 6.0 under "windows update".
I have never had a problem downloading from their site. I have 6 critical
update to download and all it does is that the small window appears after I
selected to download the critical updates. Then it ask me to agree to the
terms and I press accept and then nothing is happening. I thought that the
site was busy so last night I left it at that site all night. This morning
it was still there. I have runed my virus software, my trojan software and
my spyware and all came out clean. My operating system is windows 2000 pro.
600mhz. 396 ram.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Go directly the Windows Update site
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

Clear your cache. Delete all temporary internet files and cookies. Make
sure your system time and date is correct.

IT WORKED !!. Thanks a lot. Greatly appreciated.
I did what you said in your comments. Then I went to the Windows Update
Trouble Shooter and cliked on the Title that mentioned: Cannot download from
the web site. Just hang there. I followed their instructions and voila.
Restarted the computer and I have now downloaded the 6 critical update.
