windowsupdate page blank

I just removed Klez & Welchia from an XP pc, and installed
the DCOM patch and SP2. when I open windows update (
windowsupdate.microsoft.com) through my lan connection, it
seems to connect, the windows is blank, and DONE appears
in the status bar. the same happens to www.hotmail.com. I
can pull up other websites fine, and can even go to
download.microsoft.com.
has anyone seen this?

Paul,

try the troubleshooting page on windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
Work through it conscientiously.
