I am consistently getting a message that informs me that I have a document
waiting to be written to my CD (D: drive). The document is:
2.23MB
Folders: system32
WindowsUpdate.log
I suspect that instructions have been given to have this log automatically
saved to my D: drive. While this is probably a good thing and I plan to
learn to read the log, I would at least like to know how to instruct it not
to save the file to my D: drive. I did go to Start|Control
Panel|Administrative Tools|Event Viewer but didn't see any way to stop it
there.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you might provide.

Scott,

The WindowsUpdate.log should be located in the WINDOWS directory.
How much free space is left on the root drive (the drive that contains
the WINDOWS directory [folder] ?

Check to see if there is a WindowsUpdate.log located in WINDOWS.
(NOTE: There may also be a Windows Update.log that is used when visiting
the Windows Update Catalog site)
If the log is as big as you've stated, delete all the entries in it, and
then restart the system. Did the message reappear ?
