Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
At the command prompt, type the following commands,
pressing ENTER after each line:
net stop cryptsvc
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
net start cryptsvc
Type exit to close the command prompt
Right click on My Computer and click on Explore
In Windows Explorer
Click the + next to the C:
If there is a WUTemp folder under the C:
click on the WUTemp folder to open it.
Delete any contents in the WUTemp folder.
Close Windows Explorer
Restart computer
Try installing your Windows Updates again.
By the way, it is my habit to temporarily disable my
Anti Virus program before installing any Windows Updates.
I have installed all Windows updates and never had any problems.
