I just got Vista and Windows Mail. Everything was working fine at first, but
today I tried to pull up an email that I received last night and filed into
another mail folder. The email displayed just fine, but the attachment in it
(jpg files) didn't show. They were fine yesterday. Today they just show an
"x" in a box where the pictures were. When I click on the paperclip at the
top right of the message and choose the picture to display, nothing happens.
When I click on it and choose "Save attachments", nothing happens.
That was bad enough (and happened on every email), but now I noticed that
when I try and open another window -- for example, "Tools" "Options" or to
click on the To field to address an email, a transparent window shows up, but
the actual dialogue box won't show. I have to cancel completely out of the
window.
Closing Mail and reopening doesn't help any. Disconnecting the dial-up
connection and reconnecting doesn't help. The only thing I can do is shut
the machine off and then turn it back on again. I should also mention that
nothing else is open when this is happening, so I can't imagine that it is a
resource issue.
Is this a Windows/Vista bug, or can anyone think of what else might be going
on? Certainly is inconvenient!
