Hi all,
I am trying to reinstall W98SE on my NF2 board (DFI UltraInfinity
w/Athlon XP-M 2500). Video Card is a Asus X800pro.
The nForce v4.27 drivers installed okay. DX8.1 is installed and I am
trying to stay with it due to trying to get a old RatBag game to run.
The display driver is currently the default Standard VGA.
When I try to install the videocard drivers from the Asus CD I get this
error: Setup failed to run installation: 0x80040707
I also get this error trying to install Cat 4.3 for W98.
From what I understand this is a installshield error ?
I followed the instructions on the installshield site for install
program versions beginning with 6 but still no joy.
I have not tried a different video card yet, but that is next (Is it
possible that I have to install & older video card, remove it and
replace with the X800 ? I have done this previously, but to get the OS
to install, not the vid drivers).
In the meantime I thought I would see if anyone around here would have
info on why the ATI drivers will not install.
Thanks
