I know this is a Vista news group but I haven't been able to find a Windows
7 group so maybe one of you guys can answer my question. I have the power
settings to never put computer or screen to sleep and there is no screen
saver setup. When I leave my computer alone for awhile the screen goes
black. This never happened with Vista when setup this way why is Windows 7
doing this?

Try alt.windows7.general

Go to control panel / power options / on power options click change
settings, there do as you like.

Thanks for the news group and 2 forum sites. By the way my problem was
simply that the charger was unplugged. How stupid can I be?

Hi, Walt.

Alt.windows7.general is NOT a Microsoft newsgroup and is not hosted here on
the msnews.microsoft.com server. This server carries only the 2000+ MS
public NGs. You'll need to subscribe to a news server that carries Usenet
newsgroups; there are well over 100,000 of those groups - and thousands of
news servers that carry them. Ken gave you one server name; there are many
others.

Does your ISP (woh.rr.com?) already include a news server in your monthly
subscription?

RR Ohio doesn't include Usenet service any more, but there are many
Usenet providers that only charge a small fee for quality service.
