I am trying to network a computer with Windows XP to one with Windows
2000Pro using a Belkin USB wireless network F5D6050.

When both computers were Windows2000, there was no problem. Now one is
upgraded to XP I cannot connect! I have tried everything I can think of -
new drivers, etc but nothing seems to work. I contacted Belkin and they
solved part of the problem by getting the Belkin unit recognised by XP (it
was showing up as a SMC EZ adapter!!) and both units have Ready BSSID
numbers recognised but I cannot get them to talk. Can someone throw some
light on what I might be the problem?

You need to set the permissions on both systems. Right click on MY Computer
and click manage. From the tree select Shared Folders open it and select
Shares. You now need to set permission to the drives and or folders. Also
make sure you set under Local Users and Groups, Users yourself as
administrator.
