Firstly I couldn't find a relevant newsgroup to post this question. My
apologies if this isn't the right place.
I'm running the latest publicly and Internet available OS revisions of
both Apple OS X 10.2.6 and Microsoft Windows 2000 Vsn 5.0 (Build
2195: Service Pack 4).
Within Virtual PC 5.01 I have 'Shared Networking using BSD sockets'
selected and within Windows 2000 environment I have default:
- Client for Microsoft Networks
- File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
- Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Within the 'advanced' DNS options I have my broadband/ADSL ISP's
Dynamic Name Server (DNS) added as an entry within the option
'Append these DNS suffixes (in order):'
For all other intent the configuration is standard. The networking
works fine.
However when I migrate to Virtual PC 6.01 or Microsoft's Virtual PC 6.1
I have reduced network access. In that I can send, but not retrieve e-
mail, and I lose all but my local www-page as WWW access.
