I have a Windows Media audio/video file which when I open it in Media Player is 11 mins 3 secs long. But when I import it into WMM, it thinks it's only 16 seconds long. Is there a way to set the properties (or fool WMM) so that I can restore the duration to 11:3, which is right?

What kind of file is it?? Where did it come from. If it's
a DIVX encoded one, see the Importing Source Files...
Video... AVI page of www.papajohn.org which includes a
link to the Divx codec.

I created it with capture from my videocam in movie maker 2. The problem seems to be that I captured a short file, then captured a long one and used the same file name. I'm capturing at the high-qual NSTC setting. If I view details in Windows Explorer, it shows as a 148,446 KB Windows Media Audio/Video file of duration 11:03. When I import it into wmm, it's only about 16 seconds in duration.

Well, never mind. changing the file name and then importing seems to have done the needful.

I've seen that a number of times. Seems that, when using the same file name
as before, the properties of the first file are used for the second.
