If windows XP encounters an error he will not show the "Blue screen of death" like Windows 2000 etc. But he will automaticly reboot. If you want to know why he reboots you have to set the options that XP auto reboots off

Click with you Right mouse on "My computer", Their you go to "Advanced" , and then you go to Start-up and restore tec. When you click that butten, you will get a form and somewhere between these options you will find you solution to disable the auto reboot. (I have a diferent Windows XP, dutch, so I don't know the names for sure
